Our work with Zambian ensembles

A tour for Vox Zambezi

Vox Zambezi is a chamber choir made up of talented young Zambian singers, who specialise in a unique mix of traditional Zambian music and Western sacred music from the fifteenth century to the present day.

Following visits to Lusaka in 2008 and 2009, Mark Williams and Peter Phillips, two of the founding trustees of the Muze Trust, helped to organise with Rebecca Fitzgerland, the third founding trustee, a tour of England for the group.  For many of the singers, it was the first time that they had left Africa and the experience of performing in London, Cambridge, Ely and elsewhere was a very memorable one.

A full report of the trip was published in The Spectator, 3 May, 2008.
