It’s departure day for Anna and I. We arrive in Lusaka, Zambia, at 14:30 local time. Until then, we sit in Heathrow Terminal 3 twiddling our thumbs and staring forlornly at the roof. We met for the first time about an hour ago and have now turned to writing blogs for the sake of maintaining conversation! We expect Paul to meet us upon arrival in Lusaka to show us to our apartment and help us get settled in. Until then we are just chatting excitedly between the two of us, thinking about what could possibly be in store for us in the weeks to come. Keep up to date with all our latest thoughts, news, and photos here.
Hi, Anna here.
Max and I are just sitting in the airport departure lounge having both arrived ridiculously early, and thought what better time to write the first blog post of the trip. Despite some slight difficulties negotiating whether or not a violin counts as hand luggage, our arrival here was mostly stress free. The first flight, from London to Addis Ababa, departs at 9, and we get in early tomorrow morning. From there, we have another flight via Harare, which takes us all the way to Lusaka. Luckily, we have just found out that the inflight entertainment includes the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, so at least we won’t be bored! That’s all for now; we will try to keep you updated as much as possible.
